Exhaust heat wraps are designed to keep the heat in the header/manifold to improve the speed of the exhaust gases.
It can also provide a thermal barrier between the headers and engine bay parts and reduce under bonnet temperatures and (maybe) gain you a little BHP in the process.
Please bear in mind that there are no exhaust manufacturers on the market that wll give any g/tee on their products with exhaust wrap fitted as the temperatures reach near molten when the car is driving in high speed conditions.
